Tasting Notes

This Italian varietal is fairly rare in the Walla Walla Valley. Planted in 2010, this block consistently provides excellent fruit for our vineyard designate Barbera. A jazzy aromatic profile of dark cherry, dried strawberry, star anise, umami and nutmeg. Succulent flavors of dark cherry, raspberries and savory herbs, framed with silky tannins and a delicious lasting finish. Nice as an aperitif with appetizers. Also, pairs well with rich foods such as ribeye steaks, braised shank, cassoulet, bolognese, or mushroom risotto.  Enjoy!
