Small open top stainless steel fermenters. The cap was punched down three times per day by hand. Free run juice was transferred to French oak barrels to complete fermentation.

This Italian varietal is fairly rare in the Walla Walla Valley. Planted in 2010, this block consistently provides excellent fruit for our vineyard designate Barbera. A vibrantly colored wine with low tannins and juicy acidity make this an approachable red wine that goes well with food. Notes of tart cherry, raspberry, violet and baking spice are prominent on the nose. The wine is fruit forward with rich flavors of red and blue fruit and a subtle hint of savory herbs. Nicely balanced with silky tannins, this wine can be enjoyed with pizza, meat dishes, mushrooms, or simple pasta with tomato sauce. Delicious!
