Handpicked and hand sorted into 1.5 and 2 ton open top stainless steel fermenters. The cap was gently punched down by hand three times per day. After gently pressing, the young wine was transferred to French oak barrels and puncheons to complete fermentation.
Aging
17 months in neutral 500-liter puncheons and barrels.
Tasting Notes
The vines for this Grenache are twenty years old, planted near the top of Andrew’s Vineyard, a truly special site. This gorgeous ruby red wine offers aromas and flavors of bright raspberry, strawberry, and black cherry fruit, along with notes of fig, cocoa nib, and garrigue (think rosemary, thyme, and sage). The texture of this wine is remarkable, due to the whole cluster fraction, which provides the well-integrated, mouthcoating tannins. Savor the depth of flavor that carries through the finish on this lovely wine. Enjoy!
