Stillwater Creek Vineyard located in the Frenchman Hills of Washington State’s Columbia Valley. Certified Salmon-Safe.
Fermentation
Handpicked and whole cluster pressed. Very slowly fermented in 225 Liter French oak barrels. The lees were stirred weekly to contribute to a rich mouth feel. Secondary fermentation was encouraged until the acidity was perfectly balanced.
Aging
9 months in French Burgundian oak barrels
20% new Alain Fouquet Chassagne-Montrachet style 225-liter barrels
Tasting Notes
The 2022 Stillwater Creek Vineyard Chardonnay is an extraordinary wine coming from a seemingly impossible vintage, marked by a cold spring, hot summer, and sensational October. The fruit ripened perfectly for this block of fruit. Bursting with aromas of pineapple, Asian pear, fresh crushed apple along with hints of baking spices, vanilla, and almond extract. Rich flavors of citrus, lemon oil, pineapple, and pear give way to a captivating, refreshing finish that leaves one anticipating another sip. Enjoy!
